While working an insane job as VP of a fast-growing startup, Susan didn't have time to plan her impending vacation. So during her trip to Buenos Aires, she ended up wasting over 2-3 hours every morning at her hotel Googling, reading TripAdvisor and Yelp reviews in order to try to figure out what was worth doing.
Her efforts led her to what was supposed to be a local, authentic steakhouse. When she got there, she found herself surrounded by... American tourists. It was far from the types of hidden gems she loves discovering while traveling. That's why we created Journy: So no one has to spend their hard-earned money and vacation days not to mention brainspace and spare time only to miss out on the best that a city has to offer.
Susan and Leiti met over 10 years ago while dancing on speakers in a popular Shanghai nightclub; Susan on the left speaker, Leiti on the right one. They headed to eat late-night Taiwanese food together, and the rest is history. Susan re-connected with Amy via FounderDating. But the two had first met while in college while working on Penn Fashion Week—important to note that Amy modeled the clothing.
Get-it-done CEO Susan ran a 120-person operations and customer service team at Fab.com and also helped to scale startups like Digital Ocean, Learnvest and Blue Apron. Before that, she was an associate at Boston Consulting Group.
Food and travel super-connector Leiti is an accomplished journalist and radio host of WORD of MOUTH on Heritage Radio Network. She worked as an advisor to hospitality and food tech startups plus brands like BMW MINI, Twitter, Unilever and Thrillist.
Technical genius Amy Guo led a team of engineers at Amazon after she spearheaded the development of a new payments initiative just months after graduating from UPenn. She started her career at Goldman Sachs.
We're so looking forward to making your next trip perfect for YOU.
