On the coast of the Aegean island of Santorini you’ll find one of the most famous, and beautiful, beaches the island has to offer: Red Beach.
The distinctive red hue is due to the beach’s formation: it’s surrounded by red and black volcanic rock from the nearby caldera (large volcanic crater). Arrive early to see how the light plays with the different colors in the rocks and sand, and to get in ahead of the crowds.
