Take in Paris from above at the Arc de Triomphe

From the stately Arc de Triomphe, all of Paris seems to unfurl before you. In one direction, look down the famous Champs Élysées. In another, spot Notre Dame in the distance. We love that the view from here actually includes the Eiffel Tower, which isn't possible if you're standing atop the tower itself!

With skip-the-line tickets, you'll be able to head straight to the top (once you conquer the 284 steps).

Tour Île de la Cité and Louvre Museum with an art historian

Where better to start a tour of Paris than the city's most central point and oldest habitations? Settlements on Île de la Cité, one of two natural islands in the Seine River, date back over 2,000 years to Julius Caesar's time. Now, it's home to notable sites like Notre Dame and Sainte-Chapelle and an essential stop for any visitor to Paris.

Accompanied by an art historian, you'll tour Île de la Cité in the morning, then head to the Louvre in the afternoon to hit the highlights.

Spend half a day exploring Versailles with an art historian

Explore the gilded Versailles Palace and its expansive gardens on a half-day trip out of Paris. Each room is seemingly more ornate than the last, and an art historian will help you make sense of what you're seeing and the role this site played in France's royal history.

Eat your way through Le Marais on a food tour

Learn the story of Le Marais—one of Paris's oldest and trendiest districts in the 4th arrondissement—through its food. By popping into award-winning boulangeries, specialty chocolate boutiques, and more, you'll come to appreciate the history and evolution of the historical Jewish quarter during this tour.

View French masterpieces in a former train station at Musée d'Orsay

Housed in a former Beaux-Arts railway station built between 1898 and 1900, the Musée d’Orsay houses mainly French art dating from 1848 to 1914, including paintings, sculptures, furniture, and photography.

The museum is home to the largest collection of Impressionist and post-Impressionist masterpieces in the world by painters including Monet, Manet, Degas, Renoir, Cézanne, Seurat, Sisley, Gauguin, and Van Gogh.

As one of Europe’s largest museums, it welcomes over three million visitors every year.

Explore Montmartre's street art on a walking tour with a local artist

Montmarte was historically an artists' enclave, with greats like Vincent van Gogh, Henri Matisse, and Edgar Degas drawing inspiration from the neighborhood's narrow cobblestoned lanes. Find out what this looks like in the present day on a street art walking tour led by local artist.

Experience the old and new side of Paris in the Latin Quarter

Experience the progressive spirit of the Latin Quarter on a walking tour with a private guide. Highlights include La Sorbonne and other universities in the neighborhood, the Pantheon, and the beloved bookstore, Shakespeare and Company, where Lost Generations writers like Ernest Hemingway, Ezra Pound, and F. Scott Fitzgerald would convene.

Visit the D-Day beaches and World War II sites in Normandy

Tour the sites of World War II's most significant battles with an expert historian on a full day excursion in Normandy. You'll see Omaha Beach and Pointe du Hoc, as well as cemeteries and memorials relevant to the fateful events of 1944.

Take a day trip to Mont-Saint-Michel, the magical monastery on an island

The monastery of Mont-Saint-Michel rises from the bay as if from a medieval dream. While undeniably picturesque, this architectural wonder is most notable for its storied, millennium-long history, which your guide will explain in detail on a day trip from your base near the town of Bayeux.
